The PowerPC hardware was first introduced in the Klimax DSM in 2007 and has been used in all Linn DS/DSM products released until 2018.

At the time of launch in 2007, this was the ideal hardware for the Linn DS product with the planned services, with good capacity for more expansion. However, from Linn DS/DSM firmware Davaar 117 (August 2026), we have filled flash memory on this PowerPC hardware.
Plus, for the tech gurus, the PowerPC does not support the current modules, or have the hardware resources for the newer services.

Linn will still support these PowerPC products, and they will continue to receive updates to existing features, but there is no space to add any new features. (That is, some Davaar updates, in the future, may only be available for the ARM-Linux products but not for the Power CPC products.)

To future-proof our products, this has been replaced by ARM-Linux hardware processor in 2018
