Some service providers' routers have a built in switch giving more than one ethernet port on the router. If a switch is required, connect the switch to the router, then connect the computer and the DS to the switch.

Once the system has been set up as shown above, the DS control software (Kinsky Desktop, Konfig) must be installed on the computer. Konfig is used to configure the DS to the required settings. Once this is done, Kinsky Desktop can be directed to look for music in the relevant folder(s) on the computer. The system should now be up and running, and able to play music.

Introduction

Notes:

  2. ISP router will have been provided by your internet service provider
  3. An additional network switch may be required (see Step 2)

Note: To hear music, the Linn DS must be connected to a hi-fi system

Step 4: Add in other network devices


You can now add in your other network devices. You may want to add a storage device with a built in medai server to your network. Note: This network is not restricted to Linn only devices.
