Remote Control Handset Operations
The following functionality is available on Linn DS devices that have a front panel display. A remote control handset is required to invoke the functionality. A playlist must first be loaded to the device via a Linn compliant control point (Playlist source must be selected if available). 3rd party UpnpAv control points currently only support playlists of 1 track, so will not work (currently playlist sizes up to 1000 tracks are supported otherwise).
- Insure playlist is loaded to device via a Linn compliant control point
- Enter playlist navigation mode by pressing any of the navigation keys (Up, Down, Right. Left is currently reserved for future use)
- You are presented with the Title of the current track
- Press the Up and Down keys to preview the rest of the tracks in the playlist by Title
- Press the Right key to toggle between Title, Artist, and Album preview
- In Artist and Album mode, the Up and Down keys will preview the next available Artist and Album available in the playlist based on the order the tracks were loaded
- Press the Select key (circle shaped key inside navigation arrow keys) to jump to the previewed track
- A naviagtion icon will appear on the display (shows four arrows). If the up or down arrows are missing, you have reached the top or bottom of the playlist respectively)
- Navigation mode will timeout after 10s of no navigation input (no new track will be selected)
- Cancel by pressing the DISP key
Direct track selection using digit keys
- Insure playlist is loaded to device via a Linn compliant control point
- Select the track number you wish to play by pressing the corresponding digit key
- For large numbers, simply press the digit keys in succession as required (digit will be reset to 0 if the value entered exceeds the maximum allowed)
- After 2s, the track number entered will be selected (invalid entries will be ignored)
- Press the left navigation arrow key to erase a digit if you have made a mistake
- Press the select key (circle shaped key inside navigation arrow keys) to immediately jump to the previewed track
- Cancel by pressing the DISP key
Fast skip using skip keys
- Insure playlist is loaded to device via a Linn compliant control point
- Device must be either playing or paused for skip to be invoked
- Single press of skip keys will select the next or previous track as normal
- Press and hold of the skip keys will preview the skip operation, and select the given track on release of the key
- The first 15 tracks are previewed in order, at which point the preview continues to increase exponentially
- Cancel by pressing the DISP key
