System Compatibility
Linn takes a full system approach to compatibility. Full system compatibility is maintained only within Compatibility Families.

Upgrading
As a consequence of this system compatibility approach, when introducing additional Linn equipment into an existing system, all the componeents should be upgraded to the same family.
Before upgrading a product it is necessary to check all products in the system have a firmware release available for that family.
The Linn Config application will assist in identifying the current family of each product and availability of appropriate firmware releases.

Guarantees
The latest version of the Linn Config application guarantees to support reflash upgrade of any networked product (except Kisto and Kinos) to the newest firmware release for that hardware.

Availability of other Linn Config services is guaranteed only within the Compatibility Family.

The Linn GUI application supports control of products only within the Compatibility Family.

Beyond these guarantees, Linn seek to further maintain backwards compatibility, but sometimes this is not reasonably possible.

This table shows system compatibility across Linn’s products.
