DS Configuration

To install, replace or fully reset a DS within the home use the following guide

  • Reset device to factory defaults (for a known starting point)
  • Update firmware to the latest shipping (non-beta) code
  • Install device in the destination room
  • Connect inputs/outputs and configure device as follows:
    • (Configuration shows differences from factory defaults)


Kitchen

Connections

Configuration

  • Device
    • Room -> Kitchen
    • HDMI -> Disabled
    • Startup Mode -> Active
    • Startup Source -> Radio
    • Startup Source Enabled -> Yes
  • Songcast Sender
    • Output Mode -> Multicast
    • Preset -> ?
  • Sources
    • All apart from Playlist, Radio and Songcast: Visible -> No
  • Tunein Radio
    • Username -> linn.home
  • Volume
    • Startup Volume -> 45
    • Startup Volume Enabled -> Yes


Bathroom

Bedroom

  • TV connected to HDMI out
  • Sky box connected to HDMI1
  • BluRay player connected to HDMI2

Study

TV connected to TOSLINK1

Lounge

  • TV connected to HDMI out
  • Sky box connected to HDMI1
  • BluRay player connected to HDMI2
  • PS3 connected to HDMI3

Dining Room

  • Swap right and left speaker cables (reverse channels) to prevent crossed over stereo imaging in the middle of the home from the lounge speakers



Network Configuration

Netgear WNR2000 Router

  • WiFi disabled
  • WAN port connected to main Linn network
  • LAN ports connected to Cisco switches
