Linn Home Checks

• Run through these checks in the order described
• Final check will setup the default conditions which is how area should be left

TV in Bedroom

• All operations controlled with the Harmony remote

• Check with Sky
  • [Activities -> Watch TV]
    • TV turns ON
    • DS switches to Sky source
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK

• Check with BluRay
  • [Activities -> Watch a DVD]
    • DS switches to Blu-ray source
    • BluRay player menu on TV
  • If disc inserted select BD-ROM and wait for playback
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK

• Back to Music
  • [Activities -> Listen DS Playlist]
    • TV enters standby
    • DS to Playlist source
  • Increase/decrease volume, listen to confirm OK

• • [Activities -> right arrow -> Listen to DS Songcast]
    • TV enters standby
    • DS to Kitchen (Songcast) source
  • Increase/decrease volume, listen to confirm OK

Mac in Study

• Check AirPlay
  • Start playback of track in iTunes
  • Select Study:Kiko DSM as AirPlay speaker
  • Listen to confirm OK
  • Stop playback in iTunes
  • Select Computer as AirPlay speaker

• Check Kinsky
  • Ensure all 6 rooms are visible
  • Select Study with Radio source (should auto-play)
  • Increase/decrease volume, listen to confirm OK
  • Check playback timer is incrementing
  • Reselect Songcast source with Kitchen as sender

TV in Study

• Currently not used

TV in Lounge

• All operations controlled with the Harmony remote

• Check with Sky
  • [Activities -> Watch TV]
    • TV turns ON
    • DS switches to Sky source
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK

• Check with BluRay
  • [Activities -> Watch a DVD]
    • DS switches to Blu-ray source
    • BluRay player menu on TV
  • If disc inserted select BD-ROM and wait for playback
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK

• Check with PS3
  • [Activities -> Left Arrow -> Watch My PS3]
    • DS switches to PS3 source
    • PS3 menu on TV
  • Use PS3 controller (in left cupboard) to do something ...........
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK

• Back to Music
  • • Activities -> Listen DS Playlist]
      • TV enters standby
      • DS to Playlist source
  • Increase/decrease volume, watch/listen to confirm OK
  • [Activities -> right arrow -> Listen to DS Songcast]
    • TV enters standby
    • DS to Kitchen (Songcast) source
  • Increase/decrease volume, listen to confirm OK

iPad

• Ensure iPad is connected to Linn Home network
• Check AirPlay with Spotify
  • Start Spotify playing
  • Set AirPlay speaker to Kitchen:Sekrit DSM
    • (double-tap button, scroll lower icons fully left, shows AirPlay icon)
  • Listen to confirm OK
  • Set AirPlay speaker to iPad
  • Stop Spotify playback

• Check Kinsky
  • Ensure all 6 rooms are visible
  • Select Kitchen with Radio source (should auto-play)
  • Increase/decrease volume, listen to confirm OK
  • Check playback timer is incrementing
  • Set channel to Linn Radio (Variety)

Laptop

• Check Songcast with Spotify
  • Start Spotify playing
  • Enable Songcast with Kitchen as Listen-To device
  • Set My Computer as Songcast Listen-To device

• Check Kinsky using Shared Playlists from NAS
  • Ensure all 6 rooms are visible
  • Select Playlist source for Kitchen
  • Add Shared Playlist called Kitchen Music to playlist
    • [Home -> Shared Playlists -> Linn Songbox (LinnHome Mac Mini) -> Kitchen Music]
  • Start playback, listen to confirm OK

• Back to Radio
  • Select Radio source for Kitchen
  • Select Linn Radio (Variety) as channel
  • Listen to confirm OK

Default Setup

• Ensure all devices set to defaults
• Listen in all 6 areas to check radio is playing as expected
