To have access to the full range of functionality in a Linn system, all components in the system must have firmware and software that is of the same Compatibility Family. The family names are the names of Scottish islands, with the current release 'Bute' having been preceeded by 'Auskerry'.
To check the Compatibility Family and firmware version of a product in a system, run Linn Config, select the product, then select the ‘Updates’ tab.
The main updates found in the Bute release of DS firmware/software over previous versions, are:
