Multicast filtering used to be a requirement with larger systems due to limited Wifi bandwidths. However, as Ethernet networks have evolved this requirement is no longer relevant.
IGMP Snooping used to be a requirement for larger system. However with improved network standards and found to cause other issues, this is also no longer a necessity and should be DISABLED
