For anyone wishing to install the new Twonky 6 QPKG and add custom trees, below are some brief instructions on where to find them on your Qnap and how to copy over the custom ones How to update your Music Trees in QNAP HERE

QNAP with Twonky5/6 and Music tree edits

If you edit the Music tree on the QNAP with Twonky5 and there is an error in this file, the QNAP will copy the default Music tree XML for the Twonky file.

From reports from the Linn Forum, The Netgear ReadyNAS with Twonky V4 add-on can have some operational difficulties. Note:

1. TwonkyVision V5 does not allow the Music tree to be easily edited. However, the Netgear forum version Twonky V5.0.68 has been edited to give a wide range of view options that work well with the Linn DS products and Netgear ReadyNAS products.
2. Twonky V5 cannot be REBUILT from within the Twonky setup page, you must select the NETGEAR FRONTVIEW ADD-ONS page and select REBUILD from the FRONTVIEW page.
3. PLAYLIST files are not immediately evident in TWONKY V5. To make the Playlists visible, change and save the RESCAN TIME from “0” to “-1” and leave Twonky to rescan for the Playlist files. When the Playlists are all visible change and save the Twonky rescan time back to “0”.
4. The latest version of Menu tree (December 02 2009), provides faster cover art display

If you are presently using Twonky4, uninstall this from the NAS and purchase a Twonky licence upgrade to Twonky5.
